Hornets and Wasps
Like bees, the presence of Las Vegas hornets and wasps near your home and property can jeopardize the safety and health of your family.
Hornets and wasps aggressively defend their nesting sites. A single wasp may sting multiple times and still retain its stinger so avoiding areas of infestation is highly recommended as these pests are very dangerous to humans, livestock and pets.
Like hornets and yellowjackets, paper wasps use a paper-like material for their nests. You’ll find these nests under the eaves of your home, along the ledges of virtually any kind of building and places that seem somewhat secluded and out of direct sunlight.
The nests created by yellowjackets are found around trees and timber, landscaping, in rock walls and foundations and sometimes in outbuildings and sheds.
Just as with killer bees, people who are allergic to wasp and hornet stings should seek medical care if symptoms such as swelling, difficulty breathing or feeling faint is noticed.
